Pink is a wonderful color but no better or worse than any other. Dividing things that are “for girls” or “for boys” by color is a nearly ubiquitous marketing strategy in the world of toys. Children indeed do use color as a cue and therefore often end up playing only with toys they feel are gender-appropriate. This is a highly limiting factor in the benefits of play! Here at Fair Play, we strive to stay away from colors which unduly influence children’s interest, including the color pink.
